My husband and I have been struggling financially for around 4 years now…he has no real trade but has always worked hard to keep us all comfortable (we have a 5 year old and a 2 year old) In the UK there has been a ral shortage of hi type of work for around 2 years now but it got worse and worse as the recession set in.
He was offered well paid work abroad by a family friend and I did not want to go there…he went alone in the end and our finances are finally looking up and we can save up for once (we want our own home)…he says that he wants us out there with him…but I really dont want to go and he accepts this as he understand my reason…I HATE the country he s in and as a work from home mother, I woud basically be marooned with no female relatives at all….my child had a lot of trouble with school…she was painfully shy and insecure but is now like a different girl thanks to her dedicated teachers…the kids do miss him and he skypes and calls 3 times a day an we will all be going out there for the entre summer holidays.
My prblem is not so much with missing him (though of course I do) but with the attitude of my sister and my best friend…they keep saying things like “Why cant he just get a job in a care home or a bar and stay in the UK?” I tell them because he is earning a LOT of cash….we are saving a lot of money up and my child is a a very good private school….we want to put in the hard time now and reap the benefits later…he will also gain a quaification through this job and I trust him and he me totally….we hve no insecurites as far as anyone being unfaithful.
They keep saying things though…my Mum says it has nothing to do with either of them and I should be confident with our choices…what do you think?
My own boss who is a brilliant man of 56 said that he had to work abroad as a young man and leave his family but it was worth it in the long run.
Thanks Libby….ys…it is due to end in a year or a little longer but hecould hve te option of contracts if he wanted them. We thought we would see how we feel then…it is not the “norm” but you are right in that plenty do it! I think other people dislke it because it makes them question themselves a llittle

Really like pro style look, but don’t want to pay price…it seems real pro ranges/cooktops are less expensive but don’t offer the higher and lower btu range that you see in home pro styles. Also, may be insurance issues.
